ABOUT US

International Charity Society (ICS), was set up in 1998 with the aim to promote the generosity of the Maltese people in other parts of the world where human solidarity is badly needed. ICS is declared as a philanthropic society by the Maltese Minister of Finance, does not hold any provisions of funds and operates on a non-profit making basis. All members of ICS work on voluntary basis. The Honorable Patron of ICS is Her Imperial Highness Grand Duchess Maria Vladimirovna; Dame Irina Malikova is the ICS director.
In accordance with the 'Recreation and Social Rehabilitation Program of ICS' and with collaboration with Ministries of Education and Social care of Malta ICS is organizing for orphan children a so-called "Dream Holiday" and recreational stay in Maltese hosting families. These children are from the Federation of Russia and have been deprived from the memory of their parents and never feel family warm environment, love, care and attention.
From our 11 year experience it can be observed that once these children return to Russia, major changes take place in their personality. The communication with their Maltese hosting families proceeds through telephone calls and letter writing, regularly visits of orphans to Malta, charity missions of ICS and family members to Russia, gives the children confidence to look at the future with a more positive frame of mind such as building their own family themselves.
Maltese families wishing to host a child can make inquiry by calling Dame Irina Malikova on 9942 9997 or 21692298.
